This is where the power lies!

First things first, I’ve got to thank everyone for the support thus far. The energy surrounding Team MEGAPOWERS is fantastic and I have no doubt we are doing a great work.

As it is currently, we are halfway to our goal of 100 dollars. A humble goal no doubt but one I believe we can build on and do great things with. Let us not despise humble beginnings! Walking by faith is all about working with “likkle, til your likkle tun nuff.”

In the aforementioned clip, the immortal Hulk Hogan was preparing for battle against Hercules, a seemingly stronger opponent and not one to be taken lightly. Yet we see Hulk detail his preparation, dare I say testimony, and speak truth to power. His opponent may have compelling evidence of supremacy but Hulk is confident, as we must be confident that “greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.”

I may have Lupus but Lupus does not have me. I know we will win. I am confident in Jah victory of good over evil.

By our powers combined…

Peace,

So I’m traipsing through youtube clips to get my daily dose of quality theatre when I stumbled across yet again another fantastic macho man promo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlBcsC1v8wA (fast forward to 6 mins or watch the Nature Boy do his thing in the beginning as well.) It furthered my resolve in naming my Lupus Walk team in honor of one of the greatest eras in sports entertainment, the Megapowers.

For the uninitiated, here’s a little history: When Hulk Hogan and the Macho Man Randy Savage ruled the world of wrestling, they decided to take it to higher heights and deeper depths and form what should have been the greatest tag team ever known. Though it was quite glorious indeed for reasons artistic and realistic, their partnership would eventually dissolve into a bitter feud.

Nevertheless, we have a chance to answer that question posed by both the Bee Gees and Al Green. Yes, we too can mend broken hearts.

Please accept this as an invitation to join Team Megapowers (or as the website lists us Team Team Megapowers) and walk/donate with me as we fight the good fight against Lupus, May 5th in Charlotte.

Here’s the website to join Team Megapowers: https://www.kintera.org/faf/search/searchTeamPart.asp?ievent=1007680&lis=1&kntae1007680=B6794245E74240B7B0E7B1FBC96A22F3&supId=355693576&team=5039433

The Road to Emmaus (Luke …

The Road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-27)

13 Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles[d] from Jerusalem. 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15 So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. 16 But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him.

17 And He said to them, “What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?”[e]

18 Then the one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to Him, “Are You the only stranger in Jerusalem, and have You not known the things which happened there in these days?”

19 And He said to them, “What things?”

So they said to Him, “The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, 20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and crucified Him. 21 But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened. 22 Yes, and certain women of our company, who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us. 23 When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said He was alive. 24 And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but Him they did not see.”

25 Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” 27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

The good news is all we’ve got is God. So good to know that God is all we need. Stay encouraged.

John 3:22-36 22 After th…

John 3:22-36

22 After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He remained with them and baptized. 23 Now John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there. And they came and were baptized. 24 For John had not yet been thrown into prison.

25 Then there arose a dispute between some of John’s disciples and the Jews about purification. 26 And they came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified—behold, He is baptizing, and all are coming to Him!”

27 John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven. 28 You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent before Him.’ 29 He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled. 30 He must increase, but I must decrease. 31 He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all. 32 And what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony. 33 He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true. 34 For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure. 35 The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. 36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

He must increase, but I must decrease.
